How you can help

The animals who call the HSDR home are thankful for all of its volunteers who provide their support both directly to the animals and at our many events outside the organization. HSDR volunteers assist us through activities such as canine enrichment, feline enrichment, customer service/office support, special events, housekeeping, driving and much more! In every capacity they serve, volunteers are a highly valued resource.

 

If you are interested in joining our volunteer team and making a difference in the lives of the animals, please review the volunteer opportunities and follow the application instructions.

 

We are currently only recruiting volunteers for the following roles:

Interested individuals are required to submit a volunteer application and those selected will be invited to complete an online interview. If you are selected as a potential candidate you will review an online orientation and training video where you will learn about our shelter and what you need to know to successfully perform your volunteer duties. You will be required to answer a short questionnaire and your answers will be evaluated. Successful candidates will attend a hands on training session prior to their first volunteer shift.*

 

*Please Note Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and commit to a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 hours per week in the shelter for 6 months.

We have a limited number of available openings, and applicants must meet the volunteer requirements to be considered for an interview.
